Charles Colson Task Force on Federal Corrections Public Meeting

Washington, DC 20515On behalf of Chair J.C. Watts, Jr., and Vice-Chair Alan B. Mollohan, you are invited to join the Charles Colson Task Force on Federal Corrections for its second public meeting. The Colson Task Force, established by Congressional mandate, is a nine‐person, bipartisan, blue ribbon panel charged with examining challenges in the federal corrections system and developing practical, data‐driven policy responses. The Task Force will hear testimony from some of the stakeholders most impacted by the challenges facing the federal corrections system, including formerly incarcerated individuals, communities of color, victims of crime, and employees of the Bureau of Prisons. Members will also hear public comment from individuals and organizations registered to testify before the Task Force. The insights shared during this public session will inform the Task Force as it works to identify opportunities.

 

 

U.S. SENTENCING COMMISSION HEARING

8:45 a.m. – 2:30 p.m.

 

Pursuant to Rule 3.2 of the Rules of Practice and Procedure of the United States Sentencing Commission, a public hearing is scheduled for Thursday, March 12, 2015, from 8:45 a.m. – 2:30 p.m.

The public hearing will be held in the Federal Judicial Center, Classrooms A, B, and C, on the concourse level of the Thurgood Marshall Federal Judiciary Building, One Columbus Circle, N.E., Washington, DC.

The purpose of the public hearing is for the Commission to receive testimony from invited witnesses on proposed amendments to the federal sentencing guidelines. This hearing will be live-streamed on the Commission’s website.
